Mission + Vision

Sort of Solutions exists to do just that—sort of solve things. We’re a nonprofit that collects donations to support programming in correctional facilities. We’re not here to fix the entire criminal justice system, but we are here to patch the potholes with purpose—providing resources that support healing, growth, and a little more hope behind the walls.

While we recognize that we are not solving the broader systemic challenges, our mission is to bridge the everyday gaps by providing practical tools, donated supplies, and a touch of lightheartedness. Because often, meaningful progress begins with something as simple as a fresh whiteboard and a working pen.

Why this work is hard.

Getting materials into correctional facilities isn’t just tricky—it’s like navigating airport security with a suitcase full of question marks.

Everything is scrutinized. A donated book might be rejected for being hardcover. Art supplies could be flagged for containing metal parts. We've seen it all:

  • Books soaked in liquid drugs

  • Paint tubes hiding contraband

  • Staples turned into weapons

Every facility has its own ever-changing rules, and breaking them—even accidentally—can ruin trust and relationships.
